MICHAEL OLAF FRAME
Some of you may remember this wonderful frame we carried many years ago.
Well, finally we have found someone to make it for us again. It is a hardwood
frame, open to the front, with a solid wood back. It holds the picture
sets, each containing 10 wipe-clean cardboard pictures, that you find
on pages in the language section of the catalogue. The pictures easily
slide in and out so they can be rotated. The dimensions are 13.2" x 13.2".

THE SLATTED CHAIR
This chair, the finest available for the young child, was designed many
years ago for the Montessori infant communities in Italy. It is made of
lightweight wood, which makes it easy for the very young child to carry.
All edges are rounded, and there are two slats which meet the child's
back in just the right places to give solid and comfortable support. The
seat is constructed of slats (each slat a different length), so that it
slopes to fit the child properly—so that his feet are flat on the
floor, circulation is not impeded, and he has good balance. This secure
position allows the child to perform at his best while sitting at a table
to eat, work, or play. The slats stick out on either end so that the child
can grasp and lift the chair and adjust his distance from the table. The
sloping seat height is 7" to 7.25," the height of the back is 14.5." The
slatted chair is made here to our exacting specifications. We can usually
fill orders for individual chairs right away but need infant community
orders far in advance.
